Body by Brandy 4 Kidz is one of many new institutions designed to battle a growing national epidemic. In the past 25 years, childhood obesity has more than doubled in children 6-12 years old, and tripled in adolescents. There are currently ten times as many cases of childhood diabetes than there were twenty years ago. Today’s kids are the first in six generations unlikely to live longer than their parents.

Programs like Fit Kidz and Fitness in the City are our best way of fighting the problem. Not only are children given solutions to overcoming their weight problems, but they are also introduced to peers going through the same experience. This fosters an environment where children do not have to be embarrassed about their bodies and can feel accepted among others. Fit Kidz is not only targeted.
